Emma Gosselin
Emma’s undergrad studies were abruptly put on hold.
At age 22, she was a UBC student working on a science degree. While researching and travelling in Germany one summer she felt increasingly exhausted. Upon returning home, she was hospitalized and diagnosed with end-stage kidney failure. She started hemodialysis immediately and began the search for a donor.
It didn’t take long for her dad, Camille, to step in and he was accepted as her donor within three months. In January 2016 they underwent a successful surgery. The underlying cause of her kidney failure remains a mystery.
Thanks to Camille, Emma has her life back and has been well enough to complete her bachelor degree and start a Master of Landscape Architecture. She is grateful for the amazing support from her extended family, friends and her entire healthcare team.
